Carmen Ana Hernandez
Carmen first discovered Yoga at the age of 15 and practiced on her own for more than 5 years. It wasn’t until She moved to the United States from Cuba in 2008 that she had the opportunity to practice Yoga in groups and learn from a direct teacher. At the beginning of 2013 she completed her Yoga Teacher training; certified by the worldwide Yoga Alliance for the 200 hours standard for Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) Since then she has been internationally recognized from the Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy of Rishikesh and the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres and Ashrams. Her classes involved the 12 pain poses (or usually most of them) of the traditional sivananda class and what she called Hatha Light.
Carmen initially did yoga through a book a friend gave her and instantly felt a connection as I shared a past as a gymnast and dancer. In addition to yoga, she also practice tai-chi chuan and enjoys learning about anthropology and speleology. Carmen has a deep love for nature, animals and all positive human behavior.
